The Beautiful Moments You’re Missing
Our lives are made up of moments—one right after another. Do you ever wonder how many of those moments you have missed because you’re on autopilot, or you’re in your head thinking about the past or worrying about the future? I would venture to guess we’ve all missed a lot of beautiful moments . . . beautiful, fleeting moments.
You can’t help it. Neither can I. Our brains are wired as such, and we have these default networks that control us. That doesn’t mean, however, that we can’t change the circuitry of our brains—there’s so much research regarding the brain and the science of neuroplasticity. Default patterns can be altered. But, as with almost everything else in our lives that relate to health and wellness, changing our brain takes discipline.
One of the most power ways to help change the brain and thus help us wake up is by practicing mindfulness meditations on a daily basis. I guarantee that if you start with just fifteen to twenty minutes a day, in a few weeks you will notice a difference.
