Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Workshop

Mindfulness Based Stress-Reduction (MBSR) is mostly experiential with some didactic components. It is research-based and has been shown to effect change in almost every aspect of life: physically, emotionally, and mentally. Activities include:

  • Guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices

  • Gentle stretching and mindful yoga/movement

  • Inquiry exercises to build awareness and promote self-discovery

  • Individually tailored instruction

  • Small & large group discussion

  • Daily home assignments

  • Guided audio files for home practice and a workbook

This program provides a safe and supportive space that allows for participants to explore old habits and behavior patterns and learn to cultivate new ways of thinking and being in the world. MBSR helps develop coping skills to manage stress, anxiety, depression and fear—both at work and at home.

Mindfulness-Based Cancer Recovery

This workshop is based on the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program but is tailored for those recovering from cancer. It also is appropriate for the caretakers and loved ones who interact in the recovery process. Research points to a reduction in patients’ stress after completing this program.

Mindful Self-Compassion Workshop

Mindful self-compassion (MSC) is exactly as it sounds. It starts with being mindful—the ability to bring loving awareness to difficult situations, whether physical or emotional. The next step encompasses self-compassion which relates to treating ourselves with the same kindness and affection we would treat a friend.

The Mindful Self-Compassion Workshop is an empirically-supported eight-week course designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. It was developed by Chris Germer and Kristin Neff and it is taught worldwide, both in person and online.
