What Is Mindfulness?
And how can it help you?

Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally . . . in the service of self-understanding and wisdom.”

Mindfulness & Self-Compassion Services

Individuals

I work one-on-one with individuals including children, adolescents, and adults. The reasons individuals reach out for help range from those experiencing stress and anxiety to those wanting to improve their performance. In just a few short sessions, clients report improvements. Group Work

Group work is comprised of didactic and experiential components. Understanding about the Stress-Response System gives clarity about how we create our own suffering. And then learning about some simple mindfulness techniques to change our relationship with stress can be very powerful. Group settings that involve teachers, healthcare workers, sports teams, and athletic coaches have all benefited from this work. Testimonial

Becky has worked with my high school baseball team for four years. She works with players as a team as well as individually. Her mindfulness techniques have taught them how to be more focused on playing in the moment free from distractive or negative thoughts. My players have not only become more effective on the field but for many of them it has translated into their academics and everyday life. From learning how to deal with difficult social situations to being more focused in the classroom. I see the kids listening, learning and applying what she has taught them.

Workshops and Speaking Engagements

MBSR and Mindful Self-Compassion Workshops

The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Workshop (MBSR) helps participants move from being controlled by their stress to a place of clarity, acceptance. and greater calm. It is an 8-week program whereby participants begin to notice changes after the first week.

The Mindful Self-Compassion Workshop (MSC) is also an 8-week program. Participants learn ways to be kinder to themselves by treating themselves as they would a good friend. The benefits of this workshop have rippling effects because if you can treat yourself with kindness, you begin to offer others this gift as well.

Both workshops are research-based and empirically supported.
